IRLToolkit and PGM.NINJA solve the same problem. Your camera sends to a server in a data center, and that server keeps the stream to the platform up when your mobile connection drops. They differ in what runs on that server and in how you pay: IRLToolkit gives you a complete OBS for a monthly price, PGM.NINJA a studio in the browser that you pay for per day of use.
If you stream most days and want everything OBS can do, IRLToolkit is the better fit. If you stream a few days a month, or want several cameras and destinations in one price, read on.
Everything said here about IRLToolkit is as of October 2026 and comes from irltoolkit.com. Plans change, so check there before you decide.
What IRLToolkit does better
- An automatic "be right back" screen. When your ingest drops, IRLToolkit shows a customizable BRB screen by itself. PGM.NINJA does not. The stream stays online and the overlay keeps running, but the camera's picture is missing until the camera is back or you cut to another source by hand. An automatic fallback scene is planned and not built.
- A full OBS. Scenes with text, images, media and browser sources. In PGM.NINJA a scene is one input, and on top of it lies exactly one overlay page across the full frame. There is no picture-in-picture, there are no layouts and no transitions; the cut is a hard cut.
- H.265 ingest, and RTMP as well as SRT. PGM.NINJA takes SRT with H.264 video and AAC audio only.
- A Twitch bot. Ours exists but is still being rolled out.
One more point belongs here: PGM.NINJA is in closed beta. You sign in, you are on the waitlist, and access is given step by step.
What is different with PGM.NINJA
- You pay per day, not per month. Days are prepaid, nothing renews, and bought days never expire. A month without a stream costs nothing.
- Eight inputs and eight destinations in every day. IRLToolkit's Standard plan has one ingest and two destinations; Advanced has five destinations and multiple ingests on request.
- Output up to 20 Mbit/s. IRLToolkit's Standard plan caps the output at 7.5 Mbit/s. For Twitch this hardly matters, since Twitch's recommended maximum for 1080p60 is about 6 Mbit/s. It matters for destinations that take more.
- A desk with program and preview. You prepare a source on preview and take it to program, in the browser or from a phone.
- Channel sharing. You can share a channel with another user for a time window without showing them your stream key.
- Servers in Germany. Good if you stream in Europe. From far outside Europe your feed has a longer way.
What it costs at 2, 8 and 30 days a month
Our packs are 1 day for 10 €, 3 days for 20 € and 30 days for 150 €. A day is a calendar day in UTC and is used when you open your studio on it.
| Streaming days a month | PGM.NINJA, bought as needed | PGM.NINJA, from a 30-day pack | IRLToolkit Standard | IRLToolkit Advanced |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2 | 20 € | 10 € | $129 | $179 |
| 8 | 60 € | 40 € | $129 | $179 |
| 30 | 150 € | 150 € | $129 | $179 |
How the PGM.NINJA numbers come about:
- 2 days: two single days are 20 €. A 3-day pack is also 20 € and leaves one day over for next month.
- 8 days: two 3-day packs and two single days are 60 € for exactly eight days. Three 3-day packs are also 60 € and leave a ninth day over.
- 30 days: one 30-day pack, 150 €.
- From a 30-day pack: a day then costs 5 €. Because days never expire, you can buy the pack once and use it up slowly. At two days a month it lasts 15 months, at eight days a month nearly four.
Three caveats, so you compare the right numbers:
- The currencies differ. Our prices are in euros, IRLToolkit's in US dollars. We do not convert them here, because any rate we printed would be out of date.
- Our prices are net; German VAT is added and the total is shown before you pay. Whether tax comes on top of IRLToolkit's prices for you is something to check with them.
- The rows compare different products, as the two sections above show.
Read as plain numbers, the picture is this: at two or eight days a month, paying per day is the smaller number by a wide margin. At thirty days the numbers are in the same range, and the Standard plan's number is the lower one. At that point price stops being the argument and features decide.
Who should stay with IRLToolkit
- You stream nearly every day. The monthly price is then spread over many days, and you get more features for it.
- You walk through areas with poor coverage and nobody is at the desk. The automatic BRB screen is exactly what you need, and we do not have it yet.
- Your scenes are built in OBS: text, images, media, several sources arranged in one picture.
- Your encoder sends H.265 or RTMP and you do not want to change that.
